Misfit just launched their second generation smart wearable, the Shine 2. A few years ago, when the original Shine was first launched, it seemed like it could make its way to the wrists of a lot of people based on what it could track for the person, and the fact that wearables were just starting to ramp up in the market. Now that there are TONS of various wearables including the popular WATCH, I’m not sure where the Shine 2 fits in.
I know the LED lights can give different indicators to assist the user with notifications, but now that everything is smarter, it seems that this is an archaic way of receiving notifications. Maybe the $99 price tag will entice 1st gen users or others just getting into the market, but I see more people holding off to get something better.
