Wed - October 18, 2006october 8, 2006 - emily + charlesI was so excited to photograph
the wedding of Emily and Charles at Mildred B. Cooper Chapel in Bella Vista.
Emily looked absolutely stunning and Charles cleaned up really nicely! :) Their
reception followed at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers.
The flower girl was sooo cute. I love that I captured this kiss!
Charles catching his first glimpse at his bride...
I could photograph every wedding here and be completely happy! It's simply gorgeous!
Emily's dress was beautiful too
Congrats you guys! I am so happy for both of you! Posted at 06:01 PM Tue - October 17, 2006september 30, 2006 - elizabeth + chuckCyndi and I were in Central
Arkansas for Elizabeth and Chuck's wedding at the All Souls Church in Scott,
Arkansas. We actually went to the Univ. of Arkansas and the Wesley Foundation
with Elizabeth, but we didn't really put it together that she was who we were
photographing until about a week before the wedding. It was really fun to
photograph the wedding of someone we knew. By the way, our Garmin GPS failed us
trying to find the church. A good tip for other photographers reading this...
always give yourself plenty of time to get to the wedding! You never know when
something might go wrong. But I
digress...
This is Dan. I'm told Dan goes everywhere with Chuck and his friends. It was only fair to have him in his monkey suit for the big day.
A little Taboo before the vows...
A little detail...
I love this exit shot!
Cyndi and I were so thrilled to be a part of your wedding. Congrats again! Posted at 12:07 AM Sun - October 15, 2006september 23, 2006 - jana + tomMy final Iowa wedding was Jana +
Tom's. They were married on Saturday, September 23rd at the Des Moines Botanical
Center, followed by their reception. It was totally different that what I am
used to photographing and I loved every minute of it. I knew I would have a
great time with these two just like I did on their engagement
shoot.
If you've never been to the Botanical Center, it is really a cool place to go.
The flowergirls were really adorable...
Jana and Tom walked each other down the aisle
The ceremony was gorgeous!
They really enjoyed the cake
It was so much fun to photograph your wedding. You two are so cute together! Congratulations! Posted at 09:00 PM Sun - September 17, 2006september 9, 2006 - erin + ajI'm a little behind on my
blogging, but I wanted to share my favs from Erin + AJ's wedding. They were
married last Saturday at Smith Chapel on Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa and
their reception followed at The Temple for Performing Arts in Des Moines. When I
photographed their engagement, it ended up raining on us toward the end. This
time it started raining on us early during the best lighting for outside formals
I have had in a while. Erin was Angela's (of Angela + Korey) maid of honor last
year and liked my style so much they brought me back! It was good seeing a lot
of the same people in at at this wedding.

The flower girl was the cutest!

The bling... I mean rings.

Erin looked gorgeous... so it was like any other day

Congrats to you two again! Hope you had fun in Aruba! Posted at 08:52 PM Mon - August 28, 2006august 19, 2006 - angie + danI have been meaning to blog about
this wedding for a week, but haven't had a chance while I have been catching up
on my work. On August 19th, Cyndi and I were happy to stay in NWA and shoot
Angie and Dan's wedding at Mildred B. Cooper Chapel in Bella Vista,
Arkansas followed by the reception at Loch Lomond Yacht Club. The Chapel is a
gorgeous place to get married, as you'll see from the images. So, without
further ado...
Angie getting dressed in the office...
Told you so...
The happy, married couple...
On their way to the reception...
They had a brown cake which made for some cool "blown out" cake shots...
Can you spot the rings?
Dan's sisters wrote a song about the couple and it included hand gestures! Very nice!
These two tore up the dance floor with their crazy salsa dancing. We were all in awe!
Just playing around with some blurring...
Congratulations to both of you. We are so happy for you! Posted at 11:30 AM Sat - August 12, 2006august 12, 2006 - jessica + chadOne part of working for myself as
a photographer that I like is traveling to towns all across the country and
getting to see just what they offer. Today, I was in Fairbank, Iowa for Jessica
and Chad's wedding. Fairbank is a really nice, small town with a LOT of
character including some really nice parks close to downtown. Jessica and Chad
were married at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and their reception at the
American Legion Hall followed. I had a really great time with these two and am
really happy for
them!
The fellas GQing it up!
Just in case you're wondering where Fairbank is...
It got a little hot and Chad found a way to keep the sweat out of his eyes
Oh yeah!
The cake looked really good...
...and apparently it was so good Chad wanted it all to himself! I love the look on Jessica's face! :)
Congratulations again to you two! Have fun in Minnesota! Posted at 11:54 PM Sun - August 6, 2006august 5, 2006 - marcy + martyI headed back to Des Moines for
the weekend to shoot Marcy and Marty's wedding. It didn't snow today like I
wanted, but the heat wasn't unbearable like the past couple of weeks. Marcy and
Marty were married at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in West Des Moines with
their reception at the Iowa Historical Building in Downtown Des Moines. Karl
from Johnson Video
Productions came along to assist me for the day and we had a really
great time. This is one of the most fun couples to be
around!
Interesting story about this photo. Everything was set for a limo to take the ladies to the church to get ready, but the limo didn't show up! They "commandeered" the shuttle at the Embassy Suites (okay, the Embassy Suites was more than happy to help out... no "commandeering" was necessary) and made it to the church.
Getting loosened up before the reception...
BTW... this isn't the limo they hired. That company never showed up.
The reception hall
I really liked the lights out on the terrace where the dancing was held. It made for some great pictures!
I love the looks on both of their faces!
Marcy and Marty, it has been so much fun getting to know you and I hope you have a fun and safe trip on your honeymoon! Talk to you when you get back! Posted at 02:44 AM Fri - August 4, 2006July 29, 2006 - andrea + dustinAndrea and Dustin were married in
Ames, Iowa this past Saturday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Lincoln Way. They
are a really fun couple and look so happy together. I was really happy to come
and shoot for
them.
I loved how the ceremony was so backlit... it made for some great photos!
If you can't tell... they are ISU fans.
These guys tore the pool table up!
I really like the sun in this image!
They were both really into the cake...
A different take on the first dance...
I am so happy for the two of you! Hope you had fun on your honeymoon! Congratulations again! Posted at 12:25 AM Wed - August 2, 2006july 8, 2006 - jeynae + steveMan, I can't believe I've not
updated my blog until now. Oh well, more on that later.
On July 7th and 8th, Cyndi and I were in Decorah, Iowa for the wedding of Jeynae and Steve. You might remember them from their engagement session in Ames. They hired us for the whole weekend and we were really glad they did. A while ago, I said that Charles City was the farthest north I have ever been. Well, this now tops it... the same goes for Cyndi. Decorah is a very nice town in northeastern Iowa with a great history and downtown area. Jeynae and Steve were married at the Decorah Lutheran Church and they had their reception at Oneota Golf and Country Club. At the salon...
On the way to see Steve for the first time...
It was an absolutely gorgeous day. Here's a shot of the church. This was before it started raining on us during the pictures!
The ceremony...
After the ceremony, we all stopped by The Whippy Dip for some ice cream. Yum!
The gang's all here!
I love how all the guys wanted to catch it! :)
This little guy was mesmerized by the lights and music. It was too funny!
At the end of the night, all the ISU alum circled up and sang the alma mater. It was the best a capella singing I have heard in a long time.
Jeynae and Steve, we just want to say congrats again and hope you had fun on your honeymoon! Posted at 12:40 PM Wed - July 5, 2006July 1, 2006 - Ashlea + TonyThis past weekend I was back up
in Iowa, this time in Alleman, for Ashlea and Tony's wedding. They were married
at Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman and then had their reception at
Vittoria Lodge in Ankeny. I had a really great time with them all day and am
really happy for
them.
The ring men took the rings down the aisle in a basket with dry ice so it had a "smokey" effect to it...
After they were finished, they skipped back down the aisle...
Ashlea and Tony's get-a-way "car" :)
Work it!
It's always a good time when pushing is involved during the garter toss...
Congratulations again, Ashlea and Tony! Hope you have fun in Maine! Posted at 09:59 PM Tue - June 27, 2006June 17, 2006 - Lissa + RyanLissa and Ryan were married at
Purviance Farm in
Minburn, Iowa on the 17th. I really enjoyed meeting them for the first time. I
originally met with Lissa's mother, Nancy, and really enjoyed seeing her again.
This was another laid-back wedding where everyone was happy with letting the day
run itself. Lissa and Ryan are very much in love and I am so happy to have
photographed their wedding.
The bling...

Seeing each other for the first time
On Lissa's flowers were pictures of her father and her grandmother. It was a very nice way to remember them both.
They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Luckily the rain held off all day.
I LOVE this image!
What's a farm wedding without a little silo action?
Or some yard games? Gotta love bocee ball. Luckily, I didn't see any lawn darts! :)
I hope the two of you are having fun on your honeymoon! Congratulations again! Posted at 02:51 PM Mon - June 12, 2006june 10, 2006 - jen + scottYou might remember Jen and Scott
from their engagement session at Boone Ledges State Park. I was up in Carroll,
Iowa for their wedding this weekend. The ceremony was held at Our Lady of Mount
Carmel Church and the ceremony took place at the Carrollton Inn. I had a great
time and they were very trusting with me and let me do anything I wanted! :)
They had vintage cars take the bridal party to the reception. The cars were really cool.
We stopped in the park and took advantage of having the cars at our disposal...
Wooooo!
You put your right arm in...
Scott and Jen... congratulations again! I hope you are having fun on your honeymoon! Posted at 04:18 PM Tue - June 6, 2006june 3, 2006 - carrie + andyThe next day, I drove over to
Iowa City for Carrie and Andy's wedding. It was held at the City Park and the
reception was at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville. You might recognize Andy
from The Next Food
Network Star. He was one of the eight finalists for the show. Their
wedding was one of the most laid-back, yet beautiful ones I have seen. Everyone
was really great to work with and not stressed at all! :) I like when that
happens.

The programs actually fanned out. It helped the guests as it got pretty hot during the ceremony!

Carrie and Andy, it was great to photograph your wedding. Congrats again! Posted at 09:30 PM Sun - June 4, 2006june 2, 2006 - amanda + jonathanAmanda and Jon hired me after we
had moved back to Arkansas, but I am really glad I booked them! They are such a
fun couple and you can really see how much they love each other. I went Thursday
night to shoot them playing a little golf and to shoot the rehearsal dinner. It
was held at The
Harvester Golf Club in Rhodes, Iowa.
Amanda reacting to a shot that should have gone in! Jon looks a little too happy that it didn't go in! :)
Their ceremony and reception were at Campus Baptist Church in Ames. Getting ready

farther North than I've ever been in Iowa, to Charles City for Janeé and
James' wedding on Saturday. I had a really great time with them and am so happy
for the two of them! The ceremony was held at St. John Evangelical Lutheran
Church and the reception was at Raleigh Hill Country Club.
